The Jadids are today's hipsters, and the Kazan Jadid Fest continues the started in the 19th century: popularizing modern science, music and literature in the Tatar language. The festival program includes a lecture hall, a design market, a food court and a showcase of contemporary electronic Tatar music. The basis for the identity of the festival was a mosaic pattern that refers us to the art of leather mosaic of Kazan Tatars. Each element of the pattern visualizes one of the directions of the festival: science, literature, fashion and music, and the elements of plant ornament symbolize the connecting link of all directions of the festival — the Tatar language.
