Can i dps as discipline priest

For a total beginner to the class, although each specialization has strengths and weaknesses, we recommend Shadow as the best Priest leveling spec.

Shadow is the only DPS specialization a Priest has, so it automatically becomes the best option for leveling. But it all depends on your goals and the type of content you do. Often overlooked in this hyper-meta focused environment, Holy Priest has gained new strengths in the Shadowlands that will more easily allow the Faithful to take their gameplay to the next level.

Healing throughput: Both classes have incredibly strong insta cast heals. It can be costly but preemptively shielding to spread damage reduction can have solid impact in heavy burst mechanics, and spreading cooldown reduction can be helpful for DPS. If you wish to change your covenant, you can do so by going to The Enclave area of Oribos and talking with the representative NPC of the covenant you wish to join marked on the map below with the Covenant icons.

You can do it with pretty low ilvl. Like heroic gear or less. The powers in there make you op by the end of the run — regardless of your stats. At least on the first three layers. Silly reason? Each week, run Torghast on the highest Layer you have unlocked, and keep going with the highest Layer you feel comfortable with. Disc dps is on par or just below tank dps, nowhere close to a pure dps class. Could you use it as a solo tank spec for elite mobs then? Yeah… it takes longer but I can go through most of the 2.

Shadow should never have been a priest spec. It should have been part of a seperate class. Disco uses both holy and shadow to get things done. Solo content? Sure I guess. Group content?

I would love to have both light priests and void priests in WoW. The Discipline Priest rotation with Boon of the Ascended changes a lot compared to what you might be used to from Venthyr in Castle Nathria.

You will still be applying your dot prior to your ramp starting, and you will still want to start your ramp with a Shadow Mend, and then apply Power Word: Shield or Shadow Mend if they are wounded. How much atonement you apply will depend on your legendary and if you are playing Spirit Shell or Evangelism. For your next Spirit Shell, you will not have Boon of the Ascended ready but you can instead use Shadowfiend and your ramp will look like this:.

Make sure that you really try to dip into melee at the end of your Boon for your Ascended Eruption. It is a very big loss of damage and healing if you miss it.
