Well recommended. It was my second time to come to this beautiful city. I would come again cause I really fall in love with it. If staying in Cairns catch the local bus up to Palm Cove area. Cairns is a fascinating place with a mix of very diverse people. It has a fun atmosphere and heaps of interesting things to do.

Cairns is laid back city; a beach town. Great Barrier Reef is a one day activity so the other two will be spent doing tours, sightseeing and relaxing. Easy to get around by driving giving you access to all the sights. Cairns has become a modern city with resources to cater to every budget. IT is clean and spacious with much tropical greenery. There is so much to see within a km radius that a tourist could fill 10 days without seeing the same type of feature twice. Came to see reef.

Three cyclones hit at once Make sure to check season September October supposed to be ideal. Met such friendly people. Laid back town. Amazing nature close by but it is a city. Check out fruit bats living in trees Cairns is very neat I suggest though staying as close to the city center as possible it makes things much easier or staying up in Palm Cove.

Great place, walking distance to many activities and resteraunts. Lots of tours available to the reef. A new developed place for vocation. One can be very relaxing during staying in Cairns. If the beach has white sand that would make this city even more perfect.

I love cairns. Staying in the city center is very convenient and easy to get to everywhere. It is very small so places are in walking distance and save public transportation. Lagoon is very nice to relax and swim. Sands are so soft. The casino is small, but above there is a wildlife park and there are some adventure activities you can do inside and also cuddle a koala. Some restaurants are really delicious like the Korean on the second floor of orchid plaza and the Japanese Don of a Japanese cuisine Dondoko.

Cairns is a tropical paradise that is easily connected to most cities in Australia and internationally. It has a variety of attractions close by with rainforest and reef being the main ones. A must do on any trip to Cairns. One has to look beyond the city itself to really appreciate what Cairns has to offer.

Having said that the shopping and dining in Cairns itself were excellent. The staff at the various hotels we stayed at were extremely helpful. Having spent a good bit of time in SE Asia, we like tropical cities. They have a warm, relaxed feel about them. That's Cairns. There's lots to do in Cairns, but the key thing to do is visit the surrounding towns and rainforest areas. We found one little nice surprise in Mareeba about an hour's drive from Cairns when we visited Jacques Coffee Plantation.

The coffee was great and the story behind the development of the plantation was quite inspiring. It's not a "flash" sort of attraction but is a real Aussie story of persistence and determination Port Douglas and, of course, the Daintree are a must if you have time.

The Crystal Cascades are great Don't get rid of the bats!!! We spent 2 hours watching them and 15 other tourists did too. They are indigenous to the area and need protection not removal. Likewise with the bats; if I go too close, I suffer the consequences.

Cairns is a very lively town with a huge choice of restaurants, bars, etc. It is also the perfect "jumping off point" for visiting such places as the Great Barrier Reef, the rainforest, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation and many other attractions. Cairns is a lovely city, very clean, very neat and tidy and has every service needed.

Something for every age to do and see. Although you cannot beach swim in Cairns itself there is a fabulous huge pool for free use but don't plan on doing laps! Just wander, it is extremely pleasant. Beautiful city, especially the marina. The promenade is just great. We liked the open swimming pool free , quite a few places for small kids to play, a few stops for exercises. Visit Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda village.

The city is completely overpriced. The food is average as well as the service. Everything is very expensive. Don't waste your time on the Big barrier reef. Comparing to the Red Sea, nothing special.

The corals are nice but there are not too many fish there. If going to the Green Island, it's most likely would be overcrowded and the corals there are all bleached.

The reef cruise would turn into a vomiting cruise. There were about people on our boat and every single one was vomiting. Kuranda was really nice, but again everything is overpriced. People are not nice, especially to non-Ozzies. The service is poor. Bottom line: Cairns is a rip-off city, but worth visiting to see the beautiful nature. Love Cairns, so much to do and see, beautiful place and will go back, if you go to Cairns you must to the Kuranda train and Skyrail trip, it was fabulous.

Cairns is the perfect place to enjoy holiday. It often rains but usually for a very short time. You'd better take pills against seasick if you go to the Great Barrier Reef. Hot air ballon, great barrier reef, sailing and swimming. It is a great city with beautiful sunshine. Cairns is heaps of fun, especially if you are backpacker. For couples also, a nice city to relax and be romantic in and around.

Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with a family, Cairns has a bit of everything for any interest. It's no secret that it's filled with activities for the adventurers and sight seers. It's particularly fun for young people, with its bars and clubs all within walking distance. If you just wanted to relax, however, you could easily enjoy the sun by the esplanade or get pampered at one of their spas.

The icing on the cake is how friendly everyone seems to be. Definitely a place to visit. I would highly recommend travelling to the Great Barrier Reef. It is best to snorkel a bit away from the tour boats where the water is much clearer and the sand isn't constantly churned up by the boats. There were corals near the shore less than 1 foot deep 30cm and plenty of fish. I even got to swim beside a sea turtle a short distance from shore about m from shore - I didn't swim too far out as I am not a strong swimmer but still got to enjoy the sight of fishes near the beach.

For those who enjoy snorkeling in crystal clear waters another great place to go to is Mosman Bay which is just over an hour north of Cairns city. It's a worth going place, though we did come in a good time, due to the jellyfish and crocodile, people could not go to swim at the beach, but most of the hotels had swimming pool, there has some local supermarkets are good and convenient. We went to green island, had lots of fun, but too many people, felt crowded and commercial.

We visited the table land farming area, include coffee farm, dairy farm, tea farm, you can see mango tree everywhere. The table land had lots of fun. Tropical rainforest walk in kuranda was good, nice town, we had lunch there was very impressed. The plunger coffee was very light and nice. Cairns trip was a pleasant and unforgettable trip, we will come back. Taxi is expensive here, pls rent a car and book a hotel with free car park!

Good for outdoor activities like rafting, diving, snorkelling, hot air ballon, skydive. If you visit the rainforest, pls take skyrail, it takes only mins, if you take train, it takes 2 hour. And you have to stay in the train without air-conditioner and food. We visited Fitzroy Island on a day trip a year ago and decided to stay over this tome we were in the Cairns area.

I advise you to book well advance as accommodation books out quickly. There is so much to do - from the hiking trails and water activities, and our highlight was the Turtle Rehab Centre. Book ear Book early for that as well. The resort is lovely and set back to blend into the bush. The rooms are very spacious and nicely declaratory. We had an oceanview room with adjoining room for our teenager. We will definitely go back. Motel s In the centre of Cairns, close to everything, car rental, supermarket, restaurants, railway station.

Cairns taxis available at Cai I got to use the pool, al It is close to the airport but very quiet and yet so close to everything-public transport at the doorstep, church across, seafood buffet in a nearby hotel, RSL, short stroll in nearby good restaurants plenty to choose ,weekend fresh market, short taxi ride to casino, wharf to great barrier reef, Cairns rai Upgraded to larger unit free of charge. Really helpful staff who gave honest opinions about the tourist things what are not worth the money.

Very comfortable and affordable stay we had infant with us who had plenty of crawling room. A friend who worked a few months in Cairns recommended the Balinese restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised when we found it atta A friend who worked a few months in Cairns recommended the Balinese restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised when we found it attached to our hotel.

The food at this restaurant is great I am a foodie. The were only about parking spots but they were secure parking that you were provided with a pin for. Cairns is so easy to get about without a car so most spots were not used and we were able to park close to our unit. There was a share swimming pool that seemed popular but we didn't have the need for that. We were provided with 5 hrs worth of free Internet use not wi-fi for our 1 night stay but we didn't need that either.

We certainly mad egos use of a voucher for 2 free drinks for our meals at its restaurant. Overall a very good stay. I booked this hotel for myself and my parents as they had not been to cairns palm cove before the hotel was very relaxing enjoyed the pool and bar the restaurant for us was the highlight i pre organized the food and wine knowing what my parents liked as so as they could relax and just enjoy and all was above expectations both the quality of food and the service..

The rooms are comfortable well set out small balcony to relax for a drink after dinner would stay at this hotel again. I can also attest that another collegue of mine asked for the Presidential Suite, howeve We decided to get away from the cold in Sydney and went to cairns for the weekend, I was recommended by a friend to stay at Riley, super nice hotel, big bathroom everything was amazing, but I noticed that non staying guest just jump in and use the facilities, which I dislike, after we as a guest spent money on the stay anyone could just get in freely and use the pool I've been here numerous times, and everything is amazing.

The common area is so cool and clean, it has a big tv with Netflix, different areas to chill with tables and banks, a big swimming pool, a volleyball court and some hammocks. The staff is very friendly and t The staff is very friendly and they are always willing to help.

There's a good vibe with all the people, and I made good friends over there. One of the best backpackers I've been so far!!

Very helpful staff and accommodating to guest needs esp the front desk staff - Tim. Crystalbrook is lucky to have him around as he has great people skills and very friendly. Thanks heaps For a great stay. See yah next time. Nice and lovely hostel in the centre of Cairns. The rooms and facilities are all brand new and clean.

The kitchen is good with a nice and relaxing lounge area with boardgames, BBQ etc. The staff is absolutely amazing and will help you out in all situations, provide recommendations if you want to go out for food, drinks or book tours. They make you feel at home! The concierge service is great - helping me reserve local air b I stayed more than a She was great about fixing me up with replacem Great place to stay in uptown Cairns.

A short walk to both Cazalys and DFO. The staff were very friendly as well. Bus stop out front, over the road for buses to So the good points about the hostel: clean and big rooms with ensuite bathroom, the atmosphere Being a resort guest gives you inclusions over day trippers which they need to pay for -towels -beach chair and umbrella -snorkel equipment -wetsuit or lycra suit -glass bottom boat -kayak hire -windsurfing with lesson Additionally, when there are only guests on the island prior to Find Hotels in Cairns, Australia vacation rentals and hotels available now.

Definitely will comeback again. These apartments were fabulous! Very new and beautifully styled, fitted with quality appliances and furnishings as well as access to a lovely pool. The 4 apartments share access to the pool. We absolutely loved our stay here. If you want a luxurious stay close to supermarkets with easy road access to Cairns and northern beaches, this place is wonderful!

I love perfection and this is it. It was immaculate. Everything close by. Restaurants, walk on the park or along the esplanade, the pier where restaurants and bars, ferry terminal to take you to the Great Barrier Reef or to the other islands tours and forgetting the casino is downstairs on the other side of the hotel with a few lovely restaurants.

You can have a wedding birthday or other events in their great ballroom and stay there. Love it. Compact but comfortable 1 bedroom apartment was made better by a balcony, 2 TVs and a kitchen. The hotel is centrally located to numerous restaurants and a 5 min walk to the esplanade and swimming lagoon. The bus stop is also virtually around the corner so travel to local northern beaches like Palm Cove was simple without a car.

The rooms overlooking the water have lovely views of the Esplanade area. The apartment had everything that we could want and was both roomy and quiet. Donna at Reception was very helpful with information about Cairns and North Queensland.

Great location - waterfront directly across the road. I was here for business, great wifi, restaurant convenient downstairs, polite and friendly staff, secure undercover parking in the basement, pretty much ticked all the boxes for my stay.

Stones throw from the beautiful cairns esplanade and new dining precinct, also managed to catch a show at the nearby performing arts center.

The apartment was fabulous. Spacious, all amenities for a perfect short stay in Cairns. Appreciated being able to do my laundry and prepare meals reducing eating out costs. Apartments ideally located in central Cairns, close to Esplanade, next door to night market, local restaurants and shops. Lovely hotel, very green. Lots of places to sit out near the pool or under the palm trees. Only a block from the esplanade, and a nice walk into town.

Fast-food restaurants a block away. Very helpful, friendly staff. A great place to hang out. Well equipped apartment. Two pools to choose from. Very responsive staff. A km or so from the centre of Cairns but near a lovely part of the esplanade. Room and the pool Accessibility of the hotel.

Location and the esplanade perfect for walking with very nice restaurants around. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Free on site parking and the hotel was well located on the Cairns esplanade.

View of Esplanade was amazing and location to Cairns city and airport is exactly what I was looking for. The hotel was very clean in a good location close to the city restaurants and esplanade. So many activities for the kids!
