What is notions wall

Because of the amazing variety available in the marketplace, the sky is the limit when personalizing an item to make it your own. For example, when adding closures to a garment or bag, you can choose from notions like buttons and zippers. Or when looking for the perfect trim for your new quilt, a colorful binding can be the perfect notion to add just the right touch. For finishing a project, small trims come in handy by making the process easier. For example, when starting a project you may need to use notions like rulers to measure fabric and scissors to cut out your fabric and patterns.

Finally, to finish a project you may need a notion like thread for topstitching. In fabric and sewing shops you can usually find notions grouped together on one wall or in one area of the store. Click the below pictures to learn more ways to calculate and use binding in your sewing.

When you layer the shelf, the hoop with the nail should be either on top for a 2-hoop shelf or in the middle for a 3-hoop shelf. Glue the sides of the bottom layer of the shelf and layer the next hoop on top and press.

Let it dry for several hours, according to the instructions on your wood glue. OR, you could skip a step, learn from my mistake, and go easy on the glue. With all of your pieces for the notions wall ready, you can hang them be sure to find a stud for the heavier pieces like the hooks and thread rack. I hung some empty hoops up there too, for those days that I have an itch to hand stitch.
